Thomas S.Y. Hooi

Professor Dr. Thomas S.Y. Hooi has dedicated his career to developing thinking skills, creativity and effective learning strategies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Education) with Honours from Universiti Sains Malaysia and a Doctorate in Business Administration from International American University, Los Angeles.

His educational journey began with the establishment of Smart Child Reading Centre in 1998, followed by Edumaster Learning Technology in 1999 and the incorporation of GeniusBrain Worldwide Sdn. Bhd. in 2004. His programme development covers Thinking Skills, Learning Skills, Photographic Memory, Speed Reading, Creative Thinking Simulation (CRETS) and Power Teach.

• 2003 — Published author: Authored Advance Learning Strategy, sharing practical learning and thinking strategies.
• 2017 — Entrepreneurial recognition: His GeniusBrain journey was featured in Stories of Aspiring Entrepreneurs.
• 2018 — Professorship: Appointed Professor in Education in recognition of his contributions to the education sector.
• 2018 — Academic appointment: Appointed Academic Advisor to Nanyang Educational Consultancy Pte Ltd, Singapore.
• Learning product development: Copyright holder of the Super Learning Brainwaves Audio Product, with over 230,000 copies sold worldwide.
• Brand recognition: GeniusBrain received the Asia Pacific Excellence Brand Award from Global Business Magazine.

Seminars, Events & Media

Dr. Hooi has conducted more than 50 seminars, reaching thousands of educators, parents, students and members of the public. He has also delivered corporate training through the Power Learn series and appeared as a guest speaker at the National Young Entrepreneurs Seminar, organised by the Klang Chamber of Commerce.

His entrepreneurial experience was featured on BFM 89.9’s “Starting Up A Business”, where he shared insights from building GeniusBrain.

Professional Leadership

His leadership roles include Chairman of the Malaysia Association of Professional Educators Development, Vice President of the New Millennium Entrepreneurs & Economy Development Association (Perak), and Advisor to the Board of Governors of Asia Pacific TOP Excellence Brand.
